Basic Life and AD&D Insurance – Unum

As an active full-time MCC employee, you automatically receive Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage – at two times your annual earnings to a maximum of $500,000. This coverage is offered through Unum at no cost to you.

supplemental Life and Dependent Life

You can purchase additional Life and AD&D coverage beyond what MCC provides through Unum. They guarantee coverage during your initial enrollment period — which means you can’t be turned down for coverage based on medical history.

  • Option One – 1x annual salary, rounded to the next higher
    $1,000, if not already an exact multiple thereof.
  • Option Two – 2x annual salary, rounded to the next higher
    $1,000, if not already an exact multiple thereof.
  • Guarantee issue up to $450,000.

Flat amount of $5,000

  • Flat amount of $500 for 7 days to 6 months of age
  • Flat amount of $2,000 for 6 months to the end of the month in which they turn 26

Long-Term Disability

MCC provides Long-Term Disability insurance through Unum at no cost to you, for full-time employees.

The plan benefit is 66.67% of basic monthly earnings up to a maximum of $8,000 per month. Basic earnings is the average of your gross monthly income for the year immediately prior to the onset of disability and includes commissions, bonuses, overtime pay, shift differential pay, or any other earnings. Long Term Disability begins after a 60 day waiting period.
